More than Huawei Mate X2: Google’s folding screen Pixel phone will debut this year

As flexible OLED panels continue to mature and iterate, a number of new machines with folding screen designs have appeared on the market.

Since the debut of the first folding screen concept phone, almost all mobile phone digital enthusiasts have been interested in this new mobile phone design.

At present, mainstream mobile phone manufacturers including Huawei, Samsung, Motorola and so on have launched their own folding flagships. Once the products are released, they are expected by many consumers.

In the face of the folding screen mobile phone market with a huge market share, Google, the creator of Android, seems to be unable to restrain his desires and is preparing to enter the field of folding mobile phones.

Recently, a whistleblower said that the Google Pixel folding phone is real, and the phone will be released by the end of this year.

At the same time, there are media reports that Samsung is developing a 7.6-inch foldable OLED panel, and that Google’s first foldable screen phone will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2021.

It is worth mentioning that when Android 10 was released, Google had already added support for folding screen phones to the system.

It has built-in functions such as continuous application interoperability, resizable applications, and multi-window support for more than two applications.

Not only that, Google had previously applied for two folding screen mobile phone patents.

The patent shows two different folding designs: inside and outside.

It should be noted that the smart phone giant Apple also broke out that it has obtained samples of foldable screens from Samsung, which will be used in future iPhone tests.

If Apple, as rumored, will launch its folding screen iPhone next year, the shipments of flexible OLED panels and global folding screen phones will rise to new heights.

So, whether the Google folding screen Pixel can shake the throne of the Huawei Mate X2 folding machine emperor is worth looking forward to.
