Recommended wireless gaming keyboard: Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro

The best gaming wireless keyboard we tested is the Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro. This full-size mechanical board is mainly made of plastic, but it also has an aluminum plate with almost no bending. Some keys are shaking a bit, but other than that, the ABS two-key plastic keys feel stable. It has two inclined straight designs and a detachable wrist rest to make it comfortable for long-term use. You can pair it with up to three devices at once via Bluetooth and its proprietary receiver.

The variant we tested used the clicky Razer Green switch. They do not require a lot of force to actuate, and will give out audible tactile feedback when registering the key. If you don’t like the clicky switch, it can also be used with the linear Razer Yellow switch. Although we haven’t tested it yet, it should be lighter and quieter. With the supporting software, you can customize the complete RGB backlight, reprogram the volume control wheel, and set the macro to any key you want.

Unfortunately, the companion software is not compatible with macOS, and some keys do not work on Mac computers. In addition, due to its full-size design and wrist rest, it takes up a lot of space, and if you don’t have much space on your desk, problems may occur, although you can always remove the wrist rest if there is a problem. All in all, this is an excellent gaming mode and one of the best wireless keyboards we have tested.

The Razer Black Widow V3 Pro is a fairly large keyboard, and due to its full-size design, it takes up even more space due to its detachable wrist rest. There is no TenKeyLess or compact version.

It is mainly made of plastic and has an aluminum panel that hardly bends. The keycaps are made of Doubleshot ABS plastic, which has a better texture than Razer BlackWidow Elite. The keys are a bit swaying, the most obvious being the space bar, Shift, Backspace and Enter keys. In addition, the stabilizer will rattle when shaking the board. The sloping foot has enough grip to prevent it from sliding, and it feels stronger than the Elite.

The professional ergonomic design of Razer Black Widow V3 is good. It has a typical straight board design, but the two inclined settings and detachable luxury wrist rest should make it comfortable to use.

The keyboard has a full RGB backlight, very similar to the Razer BlackWidow Elite, but the brightness is not high. Use FN + 11 and 12 respectively to control the decrease and increase of brightness directly on the keyboard. Color, effect, speed and brightness can be customized through supporting software.

The keyboard is equipped with a detachable braided USB-C cable. Although it is not as thick as the Razer BlackWidow Elite, it is of high quality, albeit a bit weird.

The keyboard has excellent wireless versatility. You can connect to it via Bluetooth or its proprietary receiver, and it can be paired with up to three different devices. You can switch between paired devices with the switch on the left.

Our Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro uses Razer Green switches, which are tactile and click sound. They do not require a lot of force to actuate, so they give a very light feeling. That is, if you don’t like the feel of a tactile switch or want something quiet, you can also use the silent linear yellow switch.

The Razer Green switch on the Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro is loud and clicks, which may disturb people around you. In other words, the Razer Yellow switch can also be used, which is silent and linear.

The keyboard is fully compatible with Windows. On macOS, the “Scroll Lock” and “Pause/Interrupt” buttons do not work. The Windows key does not work properly on Android, and some secondary keys do not work properly on iOS / iPadOS.

Brief summary

Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro is very good in gaming. The clickable Razer Green switch on our device provides low pre-stroke and light driving force. In other words, this keyboard can also use mute linear switches. It has a complete RGB backlight and macro programmable keys, which can be customized in the Razer Synapse 3 software. The keycaps are made of double-shot ABS plastic, which feels excellent in the hand, and the game feels comfortable due to the detachable luxurious wrist rest.
